Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

July 4 Breakfast is Back!

July 4 events are back at the Concord Rod and Gun Club!  A full breakfast to start the holiday with friends, family and other members. And to recognize our Independence Day we will be hosting a Group Reading of the Declaration of Independence on the morning of the Fourth of July, followed by breakfast in the clubhouse for members, friends and families.  This is our primary document as a Nation, and was signed and published at great risk to the signatories who had a singular view of their own and our collective identity.  It is fitting to look at these words again from time to time.  For those who wish, we will read this as a group, each person taking a line, as it is relevant to the character of the Declaration that it be spoken in many voices. We want to especially invite families whose children may not be aware of why we celebrate the Fourth. Those whose ancestors served in the Revolution are invited to read their names, and those who have relatives serving today are invited to read their names.

We will follow the reading with Breakfast for all in the clubhouse.  Bacon, eggs, pancakes, orange juice and coffee - all the fixin's!  And yes, despite the recognition of our fight for independence, we will still have English Muffins.  Limited Members are invited to help.  Your time here will count on your work requirement.

8 am on July 4.  We will gather around the Veteran's Flagpole to read the Declaration, then move up to the clubhouse for breakfast.  What a great way to start the holiday before heading off to town celebrations or summer fun.  No need to sign up.  Just show up and “pursue some happiness.”  Any questions, talk to Tom Rourk at tfrpiano@comcast.net or at 978 369 5366.
